It has affected the members greatly. This is partially because Large Format Copier is on a furniture dolley in the hallway, waiting to be sold/donated/dismantled(eey.) So with Large Format Copier still here there is much anger in the office. Especially when New Model Large Format All-In-One Machine(LFAM) is used. Yes LFAM Prints, scans, and copies. Even Scanner is distraught at the arrival, no more folding and scanning large drawings in pieces! New Large Format Plotter is somewhat relieved at its workload, but feels very content do to its color plotting ability LFAM is lacking. LFAM is quite happy with itself too. I mean it came in two pieces the scanner and the printer, it even came with its own print server. LFAM is very proud. Even machines not related to the use LFAM does are somewhat complacent about its arrival, theyre only thought is, "Am I next?" Hopefully these issue will die down soon, so work can resume in a peaceful manner until then its walking on eggshells in the office. It didn't help the feelings the equipment in the office were experiencing when all the chairs were replaced. It has really gotten the whole office ot worry about if they are next. Luckily the machines all have at least a year unless something happens. So I guess we all have to see how it plays out in the next few weeks, because who knows if there is some major OE(operator error) with LFAM the entire office will be beside themselves. That could cause a major issue in the office social structure.

So until next time....

Expressions of Office Social Structure and Relationships

Well I don't know how it is in your job but this is how it works for me. There are some intense in office relationships and also some social tension between members of the office. Let's have a look...

It all started when the Photo printer sent some garbled message of attending some online training. I was like, WTF. Since when does the printer even talk to me. I figured it thought it was a little high and mighty on the office as the only photo printer. Then it all became evident to me. The whole office has something going on and it is a very severe situation.

To start because Large Format Copier is secretly the bane of Photo Printer. This is because people always take from Photo Printer while those same people give to Large Format Copier. It upsets Photo Printer that someone is always jamming something into Large Format Copier. This is all including in the seldom use of Photo Printer making Photo Printer it even gets attention when someone wants something from it. Photo Printer has a serious self-esteem issue.

While Large Format copier is very happy with itself and is current interaction with others. Give and Take everything is balanced and Large Format Copier is content. Then we have the plotters. We have Old Bitter Plotter and New Faster Plotter. Old Bitter Plotter is just mad, doesn't want to work most of the time and has an attitude. Old Bitter Plotter feels replaced by New Faster Plotter as well it should besaue people feel that using Old Bitter Plotter to be a bother. But what the office doesn't know is that very soon, next week in fact. Old Bitter Plotter and Large Format Copier will not be replaced but scrapped all together. Yes, they are being replaced by an all in one device. It will affect the whole office and no one knows. New Faster Plotter will only be relied on for color plots because of the speed at which this new machine works. This could put the office in turmoil, we will see.

Next we have Laser Color Printer, fast and in color, on the shelf unit. It is beside itself with its own adoration. It feels no one can print color as fast as it and it knows. But at the same is weary of its own quality because it feels its high maintenance with the price of its toner cartridges. So it fights down those feelings by lording itself others in the room. Like Fax Machine, hardly used, out of fear mainly which causes Fax Machine much grief. Fax machine gets bogged down by fax adds which really diminshes its image to others too and Fax Machine knows it, but bears it all with a beep and a hum, because it knows when the time comes no one else can do what it does. Except for those Computers, but only a select few know how to do that and its not usually worth the effort. Fax machine knows that too. Next we have Super Fast Copier, I don't know much about it I rarely use it like most people. But it must have something on its mind, it is in its own room. But with all its functions I am sure it feels unique in its own quality, autofeed sheets, two sided, size change, staple, with those functions who wouldn't feel at ease in ones life.

There is also Personal Printer that is used for sensitive information. This is machine is shy and rarely seen. Personal Printer feels loved and controlled at the same time. I mean Personal Printer feels shut away from the rest of society considering its singular uses. That is an issue only personal Printer can deal with itself.

We also have scanner, the outcast. Scanner isn't even hooked up and bounces from desk to desk only for required use, no one really wants in their area. Its clunky. Scanner just wants a place "To Be." Since teh dis assembly of the office area Scanner worked in, its life has been in utter chaos. Maybe one day Scanner will find solace in its own place again.

This is all just the beginning there is more to the situation I hope you can imagine. There is even some animosity to the machines in the other half of the office and they are a whole new story all together. Hope you enjoyed.

Ciao
